Tea Shop

A quick leg stretch turned into an hour stop. Very stylish setup without being pretentious. Lovely lawn with large shady trees. Staff were very friendly, imparting knowledge to satisfy all our curious questions. We even stopped again on our return trip to by more tea. We don’t travel this road often but will definitely stop here again and again.

I recently visited this charming tea shop and was thoroughly impressed. The establishment exudes warmth. The staff is incredibly friendly, making you feel comfortable. What's more, it's kid and baby-friendly, with ample space and a relaxed atmosphere. A must-visit for tea lovers of all ages!

Oh my goodness. What a gem! As a tea lover, you feel like a child that's just walked into a candy store or Charlie's Chocolate Factory or your favorite toy shop. The smells, the beautiful setting, atmosphere, the lined up taster teapots on their burners, their tee candles adding to the ambiance. Tasteful little branded quality taster papercups. They have each and every kind of glorious glass and cast-iron teapot you can imagine. You want to say: "One of each please" and then realize you might only have space for one more! You already start planning in your head where you can add a cupboard or what should be thrown away that hasn't been used in the last year. It is a Beauty and the Beast moment - that boutique library. .. .. of teas! I literally re-areanged a drawer at my tea&coffee station at home to accommodate all the teas we bought (as well as my textured glass teapot with bamboo handle ;-)) and we love each and every one. To take it to the next level, they also have an art room, exhibiting the very colourful work of our own Porchie. I just love opening up one of his spectacular umbrellas on a rainy, cloudy day. .. .splashing a gloomy day with colour! And the best part of all, except for the friendly, welcoming, helpful but not overbearing staff (and the Rooibos tea Gluhwein we bought and saved for a rainy day, which was last night. .. thank goodness we bought 3!), is that everything is so well priced! Look, you can order online, BUT should you be road tripping past there, do not not stop! And just by the by, at the same stop, you'll find Piekeniers Wine Shop, and wine tasting, for after or before your tea tasting with different options of pairings. There are platters and food galore, and a deli at the same stop! Happy weekend away planning! 😉

Just done with ‘rooibos experience’ tour at Carmine which was informative, funny and entertaining all at once. Kudos to our guide Liesl and her energy. What a fine ambassador for Carmine and South Africa! Thanks to the ladies at the shop and cafe.

Definitely a road stop you have to do. Small little shops with the most delicious food and pastry choices. Wine tasting, and the most important the Carmien Tea shop. After your visit and tastings, you will be a tea lover. Don't walk out of there empty handed, as you will regret it.
