Planning your trip along the Cederberg region’s famous Rooibos route? Don’t miss the Carmién Tea Shop, a must-visit padstal on the N7 just outside Citrusdal. Taste our full range of Carmién rooibos teas, sip a red cappuccino, or enjoy a tea and gin pairing. Kids can play in the outdoor play area while you relax, shop local goods at the Deli, or try a wine tasting at Piekenierskloof Wines next door. The Tea Shop is a top pick for things to do in the Cederberg, and a great stop for lunch near Citrusdal.

Enjoy a unique tasting experience with Carmién Tea and Piekenierskloof Wines. Choose 4 Piekenierskloof Wines, accompanied by palate cleansing and flavour-enhancing rooibos teas; add a special cheese platter, or a homemade mini quiche or an iconic De Tol flatbread of your choice and for dessert, add the Carmién gin and nougat pairing. Let your palate be your guide and enjoy the best flavours of the Rooibos Region at De Tol.

Our gin & nougat pairing is a must for gin and Rooibos lovers alike. The rich and spicy taste of the Citrus Chai gin is paired with decadent white chocolate, vanilla, olive oil and almond nougat, while the light and sweet-tasting Floral Berry gin is paired with a delicious almond and cranberry nougat, adding a creamy finish to every sip. Sip, bite, and sip again for the ultimate pairing experience. The two Rooibos gins are also available to purchase at our Tea Shop.

De Tol is a historic farm stall near Citrusdal, with views of the Piekenierskloof mountains and a history dating back to 1864. De Tol, probably the oldest farm stall on the N7, is now proudly owned by Bergendal, our family farm situated 8km further along the Paleisheuwel Road. It’s the perfect stop on the N7 for food, tea, wine and gifts, and a central hub on the famous Rooibos route.
