MINA MOO’S MILKY’S & STRAWBERRY FLOATS

20 MIN SERVES 8

Ingredients:

MILKY’S

  • 1 litre (4 c) full-cream milk
  • 4 tea bags, Carmién tea Sleepy Time, camomile & strawberry
  • Surgar to taste
  • A few drops pink food colouring (optional)

MILKY’S

Method:

  • Place the tea bags in the milk and slowly heat until infused, about 5 min. Do not boil.
  • Cool with the tea bags still inside.
  • Remove the bags once cooled.
  • Add a tiny bit of sugar with a few drops of pink food colouring.
  • Pour into small jars.

STRAWBERRY FLOATS

  • 6 bags Carmién tea Sleepy time, with camomile & strawberry
  • 500 ml (2 c) litre boiling water
  • 250 ml (1 c) strawberry juice
  • 500 ml (2 c) lemonade or to taste
  • 1 litre (4 c) vanilla ice-cream
  • Frozen berries for sprinkling on top

STRAWBERRY FLOATS

Method:

  • Steep the tea bags in boiling water for 5 minutes till strong.
  • Remove the tea bags and cool.
    Add the juice and keep in the fridge (this can be done the day before).
  • Just before serving, pour the cooled tea in double-walled glass tea cups (available @Carmientea for R45 each), add lemonade to taste and top each cup with a scoop of ice-cream.
  • Add a sprinkling of berries and serve.
