We are currently seeking a proficient and driven Procurement and Supply Chain Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in our ongoing success.
Job Description:
The Procurement and Supply Chain Manager is responsible for ensuring the availability of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods required to meet business and client needs. The role balances strategic sourcing, supplier management, cost optimisation, and material allocation, while maintaining optimal stockholding levels. By working closely with production planning, logistics, and sales teams, the Procurement and Supply Chain Manager supports smooth operations and helps the business consistently deliver to both local and international clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement and Strategic Sourcing
- Planning, controlling, execution and strategic management of procurement strategies for raw materials, packaging, and finished goods.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service levels to secure cost efficiencies and supplier reliability.
- Monitor market and commodity trends to inform purchasing decisions.
- Build strong relationships with local and international suppliers and drive supplier performance.
Raw Material, Mixed Raw Material and Packaging Allocation
- Plan and allocate raw materials, mixed raw materials and packaging to ensure production facilities have the required inputs to meet client orders.
- Implement effective material requirement planning (MRP) to balance availability with cost control.
- Monitor and track material utilisation, wastage, and efficiency.
- Anticipate potential material shortages or excess and take proactive corrective action.
Inventory and Stockholding
- Maintain optimal stock levels of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods to support local and international demand.
- Balance inventory investment with working capital and business continuity needs.
- Ensure accurate records and visibility of stockholding across warehouses and facilities.
- Collaborate with warehousing and production teams to align on material flow and usage.
- Oversee and capture monthly stock takes, reconciling variances and ensuring accuracy of records.
- Ensure all procurement, stock movement, and allocation data is accurately maintained in the ERP system, providing visibility across the business.
Support for Production Planning and Logistics
- Work closely with production planning teams to align material allocation with production schedules.
- Provide procurement and stock visibility to support accurate production forecasting.
- Collaborate with outbound logistics teams to ensure client orders are fulfilled with the correct stockholding.
- Escalate supply risks that may impact production or delivery and propose mitigation solutions.
Governance and Continuous Improvement
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, ethical sourcing standards, and legal requirements.
- Track procurement KPIs (cost savings, supplier performance, stock availability, etc.).
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and supply chain efficiencies.
- Support sustainability initiatives in procurement and materials management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, or related field (CIPS or equivalent advantageous).
- Proficiency in Advanced Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Business Central advantageous).
Experience:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in procurement within FMCG, with exposure to raw and packaging materials.
Skills:
- Strong experience in material planning, allocation, and inventory management.
- Proven ability to optimise procurement processes for both cost and efficiency.
- Strong negotiation, supplier management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
