MBP36 Remote Wireless Baby Video Monitor
When it was time to get a baby monitor I had my heart set on a video monitor. I got lots of advice from many people saying it is not a necessity and maybe a bit of a waste of money. I however know myself very well and knew that a video monitor will give me the peace of mind that I needed as a first time mommy and therefore we saved a bought a video monitor.
I read through many video monitor reviews and did price checks, even watching videos on video monitors. After all my research I decided to buy the MBP36 Remote Wireless Baby Video Monitor.
My 3 main reasons:
1.Tilting Camera that gives you the ability to move around the room and see baby in any position
2.The wide and lovely big screen (full (daytime) colour
3. a Second Camera can be set up if the second (or third) baby comes along
..and I was happy. Very very happy…
until 4 months later…
The monitor stopped charging. It just stopped. Even plugged in to a power source it would not charge. So I drove 200 km to the shop where I purchased the video monitor, explained what happened and viola! they exchange it for a brand new monitor. I was relived and glad as I am very dependent on my monitor for our daily sleeps.

I think you can see where this is going, expect that on my fourth exchange (within a year) they informed me that there was a change of management and that Motorola does not exchange monitors anymore – they now send them for repairs… I will have to send it for repairs, get a “loan monitor” (sound only), drive 200 km back home, wait 2-3 weeks, drive 200 km back to the shop to fetch my repaired monitor, use it for 3 months (when it will break again)…. you get where this is going (again).
So I gave back my monitor and switched to the Angelcare Video monitor (4 weeks and no problems so far – review to still to come)
But I must confess – I still love the Motorola! I know, I know you must be asking “BUT HOW?!?!
Simply put it is a video monitor and has been designed to be a video monitor. No frills and fusses and that is what I wanted and what I loved so much!
So please Motorola get your charging issues sorted! You have a great product with one BIG glitch!
Will I recommend the Motorola Monitor? Shockingly, yes – BUT only if you have the stomach to drive up and down to exchange it every 3-4 months!
