The sings are here. Everywhere. Smiling. The fields are covered in Namakwa daisies. Yellow, orange and just before we reach home a field as white as snow. This is te sign. The sign that Marguerite’s birthday is close. I will teach her to look out for this every year.
We woke up (the birthday girl has been wide awake since 3:30 with a quick nap from 6:00-7:00 so lets just..*yawn*… say she woke up at 7:00 *wink.wink*) with candles, singing and some presents.
We have a few tea dates and visits ahead and my parents are flying in for the celebrations. Looking forward to a very special weekend!
…in ending a note to my beautiful daughter
My dearest daughter today you are one year old. What an incredible journey it has been. You have taught me so much about patience, grace and above all love with no bounds. The day in the hospital I was so excited te meet you and at the same time so afraid of our journey ahead. When I look back over the year I stand in awe. We have sung together, prayed together, danced together and slept cheek to cheek. I will not trade this experience (the sleepless nights included) for anything. You bring light wherever you go. We love you.
